Using the dependency lister


To list dependencies, you must use the command line:

  1. Start the command line by choosing Programs > Command Prompt from the main Start menu.
  1. At the prompt that appears, type the command to list the references. Its syntax is:
CDirector list_refs [-1] filename
You may need to prefix the command with the full pathname of CDirector. For example, if it's in its normal location of C:\Program Files\CAS\Animo\bin, you would instead type:
C:\Program Files\CAS\Animo\bin\CDirector list_refs [-1] filename

The command lists the dependencies of scenes or levels (the only types of assets that currently have dependencies). Each reference will only be listed once, even if it is used more than once.

Normally the command outputs all dependencies; for example, for a scene it would list not only the levels that the scene uses, but also the color models used by the levels. If you use the optional -1 (hyphen-one) parameter, only the directly referenced assets will be listed; for example, this would not list color models used by a scene's levels.
